I studied composition under Professor Ib Nørholm and Hans Abrahamsen at the Royal Academy of Music in Denmark, and I had the privilege of attending masterclasses with Iannis Xenakis. However, the most profound influence on my musical journey was my encounter with the composer Arvo Pärt, whom I meet in 2001.
This section of my website is dedicated to my orchestral works. I’ve written three symphonies, a violin concerto, two cello concertos, and a piano concerto. Some of these works are purely acoustic, while others incorporate electronics (ad libitum), meaning they can also be performed without the electronic elements.
At the moment, I’ve taken the scores offline, as I’ve decided to revise and update these pieces. My plan is to release and record them between 2028 and 2030. I’ll be posting updates (demos, scores and final recordings) here on this page as the work progresses—so stay tuned.
“A harbinger of a breakthrough in new Danish music... The most beauty-seeking among the young is Carsten Bo Eriksen... This wouldn't have been possible ten years ago — the music would have been dismissed as 'too beautiful!'” - Anders Beyer
These 4 demo snippets of each movement was recorded in 2010 with the cellist Zöe Martlew.
Score has been taken down, until it's revised. Will be recorded between 2028 and 2030.
